Question: What is Botox® Cosmetic and What Can it Do For Me?

Answer: Botox® has been used therapeutically for more than 17 years to treat a variety of medical conditions. It is approved in more than 75 countries and remains the most studied botulinum toxin and one of the most widely researched medicines in the world. Botox Cosmetic® was approved in 2002 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people ages 18 to 65.

Question: How does laser hair removal work?

Answer: We use the LightSheer diode laser hair removal system which is a state-of-the-art system designed to remove unwanted hair with less discomfort, faster and more reliably than any other method. A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. The light emitted by the LightSheer diode laser is well absorbed by the pigment located in hair follicles. During the procedure, the laser pulses for a fraction of a second, long enough to heat up the hair and significantly impede the follicle’s ability to re-grow. This process also treats numerous hair follicles simultaneously (unlike electrolysis).

Question: Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?

Answer: An important part of the procedure is the cooling of the skin. A special contact-cooling hand piece allows your physician to treat even the most sensitive skin. It protects and cools the upper layer of the skin before, during and after each laser pulse while directing the laser energy to the hair root. There are no long term health hazards from the light or electric energies used by our system.

Question: How Does Radiesse® Work?

Answer: Radiesse® is a safe, FDA approved dermal filler that restores a natural, long lasting, youthful look. This convenient treatment can restore facial volume as well as correct smile lines. It works with your body, below the skin’s surface. Tiny calcium based microspheres from a “scaffold” to support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen. Over time, the calcium based microspheres gradually break down and are safely and naturally absorbed by your body. RADIESSE® does more than just temporarily fill in facial folds and wrinkles, it can restore facial volume for the youthful look you want.

Question: What Does Laser Tattoo Removal Involve?

Answer: Belle¬ge uses the Medlite® laser to remove tattoo ink with the energy of light. A laser is a device which is designed to produce one or more specific wavelengths of light. Tattoo ink is removed by using this specific wavelength of light which passes into the skin, but is absorbed by the ink. The rapid absorption of light energy causes the tattoo ink to break into tiny particles which can then be removed by the body’s natural filtering systems. The MedLite® laser provides maximum tattoo removal while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.

Question: What is a Photofacial?

Answer: Typically the term photofacial describes a procedure called skin photorejuvenation. Photorejuvenation is accomplished through the use of pulsed light rather than a laser. Belle¬ge uses Palomar systems which use specialized hand pieces which filter light to target blood vessels and pigmented lesions. Each band of the spectrum has a wavelength that is ideal for different treatments, such as sunspot removal and vessel clearance.

Levels of energy specific to your treatment are utilized to maximize your improvement. Once delivered, energy is absorbed by the target tissue that has been damaged. After the treatment, please follow your home care instructions as to avoid any unwanted irritation. It will also be important to avoid harsh skin chemicals/cleansers and use sunscreen.
